Crispian St. Peters had a couple of hits in 1966 (this one and "You Were On My Mind") but later scuppered his own career by recording a dire song called "Carolina" which he deliberately pronounced as "Caroleena" to make it rhyme with "my queena". Avoid that one. On the other hand, "Pied Piper" is a worthy addition to any collection of 60s hits.

The Pied Piper peaked at #4 in the US, although it was my personal favorite song while it was out in the US.
They're always blocked, aren't they? I do wish I could figure a way to circumvent that. It's the biggest pain in the ass on YouTube.
Actually, to be fair to Crispian St. Peters, his song "That's Why We Are Through" (the flipside of the awful "Carolina") isn't bad and should have been on the A-side. Neither side is on YouTube as far as I can see.
That's another song that went one better in the US than it did in the UK. It got to number 5 here. "You Were On My Mind" was his biggest hit here, it got to number 2, kept off the top spot by the Overlanders' opportunistic cover of the Beatles' album track "Michelle".
