Most striking, is the following excerpt from the book about him by journalist Tom LoBianco, “Piety & Power: Mike Pence and the Taking of the White House.”When Trump won the election, Karen Pence was livid. They were just about broke and she wondered how they were going to afford her inaugural gown. "Trump ended up arranging for the inaugural committee to cover some updates to the vice presidential residence and to buy Karen Pence two ball gowns – an original and the cost of altering that dress into one she liked better, according to the book.""The Pences may not have needed the financial help if the couple, years before, hadn’t lost nearly $1 million Pence had inherited from his father. Our dearly beloved host, Alex Trebek, is struggling through the ravages of cancer, and might not be well enough to make a comeback. Before departing, he graciously bade us a heartfelt temporary goodbye, but the current hiatus appears to be dragging on indefinitely. Personally, I find the reruns EXCRUTIATINGLY brutal to watch, and I haven't been able to enjoy them even in the slightest way. I abandoned them after only a night or two. Now exists the possibility that the show itself is in peril. I can't imagine a replacement host will meet with my approval, and I wonder whether or not life will be the same without Alex Trebek and the show. (Ok, I'm being overly dramatic there, but deep down inside, the sentiment is real.) less

That was the kind of humor I grew up with. If only my ex-Marine step-father had been that funny!

I wonder if after so many years they get a bite every now and then. Hmmmm. ~
