So I’m reaching out here in the hopes someone can enlighten me. There are countless posts from owners of indoor/outdoor cats coming up missing and even dead. One man said they love their cat to pieces but told people not to feed them. Can someone please tell me why some are more concerned about their cat being fed by strangers than they are it getting injured or possibly dying? Personally, I would opt to being loved a little less and kept safe from harm. I realize some cats aren’t happy being kept indoors. But I’d prefer an unhappy and safe pet to a happy dead one. Any thoughts? less

Throw in architecture, animal breeding and genetics, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and veterinary medicine as well. Having majored in history, I have no idea how anyone can wrap their minds around such esoteric bodies of knowledge!

I do not even know all of their childrens’ names, dates of birth or ages. At last count, my eldest sister, four years my senior, is the only grandparent among my siblings and I. Her son fathered one child and her daughter gave birth to two children.

My mother has only one sibling, her younger sister. Aunt Nita* lived not far from us and we spent a lot of time with our cousins until they moved to Texas when I was about 12 years old. They came back a few years later, and had funny accents that we couldn’t understand. Aunt Nita and my mother had similar lifestyles in that they had a string of children by different fathers: my mother was pregnant six times but only five of us lived. Aunt Nita has six children. I have never known my biological father. From age 4 to 14, I had a stepfather, he was the youngest of 8 children, but had been born and raised on the East Coast, his entire family was still there and we only met one of his brothers. When I was about 10 or 11, my stepfather’s brother was in the Air Force and was transferred from overseas to a base located about an hour and a half from where we lived. He had a Thai wife and 6-year-old stepdaughter. We never spent very much time with them.~ less
