Nobody hacked my account! I really am asking a political question, lol. It was partially inspired but not directly inspired by a previous question and my answer to it.

Christopher Julius Rock was born in Andrews, South Carolina, USA on February 7, 1965 to Rosalie (née Tingman), a teacher and social worker, and Julius Rock, a truck driver and newspaper deliveryman.I thought it was merely a stage name, but it turns out to be his true name. ~

But I bet Trump will have something snarky to say about it and throw in a little bragging well he is at it. I figure Trump will say something like - I watched Fauci throw out the first pitch and I sure hope he is a better scientist then he is a ball player. Then Trump will probably say something ridiculous like if he got to throw out the ball there would be some pepper on it and the catcher would say he never had a ball come at him so fast and hard. Cheers and happy weekend ! less

This approach challenges the familiar dogma that writing instruction should limit emphasis on grammar/sentence-level issues so as to not put students from multilingual, non-standard "academic" English backgrounds at a disadvantage. Instead, it encourages students to develop a critical awareness of the variety of choices available to them w/ regard to micro-level issues in order to empower them and equip them to push against biases based on "written" accents.https://english.rutgers.edu/news-events/department/5875-department-actions-in-solidarity-with-black-lives-matter.html less

MarketWatch had a very interesting article on it recently and I learned some things I didn't know about it. For one thing, it's supposed to be an easy test because it's meant to indicate the possible beginning of cognitive decline, not the end. The exam should not be difficult for someone who is not cognitively impaired. One doctor said that Trump's crowing about passing the test is like saying he successfully tied his shoes that morning. By the way, that test was given to him in early 2018, so the results, if given today, could be different. Also, it is not an IQ test. A normal score is 27 out of 30. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-doctor-behind-a-cognitive-test-trump-took-says-its-supposed-to-be-easy-for-people-with-no-cognitive-impairment-2020-07-20 less

Language becomes the medium through which a hierarchical structure of power is perpetuated, and the medium through which conceptions of ‘truth’, ‘order’, and ‘reality’ become established."
