He was growing up in conflicted times and he had such a BLAZING talent that his skin color mattered not at all. (UP TO A POINT).Sammy was embraced by Frank Sinatra and Sammy played his role. I'm sure Frank adored Sammy, but there were RULES. And Sammy never crossed those. Frank never cared about Sammy's color. Frank was color-blind, BUT DO NOT CROSS FRANK.Sammy adored Frank and that kept Sammy in Frank's good graces. Frank was a powerful machine and if Frank saw your worth, you were a star.SO, why and how did Sammy sell out? HE let Frank's friends Pooop on him. He allowed a GANGSTER to punch him in the stomach. Frank watched. And Sammy, I'm sure wondered what kind of friend would do that? But that was a time period where things that we understand now, were not so easily seen. less

The picture seems appetizing to me in a fun sort of way. It's a pizza -- green peppers and Italian sausage bits added. Kraft Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese deluxe from the box (that's why I wondered if it counted as home-cooked since it's from a box, ha):)

The ghost of a murdered baby haunts a family who has escaped the horrific cruelties inflicted on them while they were slaves. The ghost has grown and appears the same age as she would have been had she lived. She lives and acts within the household like a living person, eating, drinking, occupying a bed, and having an affair with a man, but she has the emotions of a jealous and tantrum-prone three-year-old. The tensions build as the unresolved traumas spread to affect some members of the town until finally an act of extraordinary spiritual courage and wisdom brings the story to its climax.
Reading this story gives a powerful sense of how intergenerational trauma works and why it should never be dismissed. Morrison used newspaper clippings ... less

This one snuck up on me quite unexpectedly, and she announced to me that she and I are fake-engaged even before our first fake date. I know it’s destined to end like all the others, but I doubt it’s the last time this will happen. Why does this fake pattern keep fake repeating itself?~
