For those of you who have at least one sibling, what were some of the things that you had to share with her/him/them when you were growing up? I have a brother who is 13 months my senior and another brother who is 13 months my junior, and my family was not wealthy, so hand-me-downs (clothes) were a way of life when we were younger. Additionally, we all three slept on the same bedroom and in the same bed when we were very little, I think up until I was 3 or 4 years old. After that, my older brother got his own bed, and I shared the other bed with my younger brother for about a year or two. I vaguely remember bunk beds after that, but I’ll have to call them and ask to be sure. My two sisters are respectively 4 years older than I am and 11 younger than I am, so they never had to share either clothing, beds, or bedrooms.~ less

Beyond that, it’s been necessary for me to keep my activities under wraps. (((Shhhhh.)))~

Associate Press August 17, 2021. The Taliban vowed Tuesday to respect women’s rights, forgive those who fought them and ensure Afghanistan does not become a haven for terrorists as part of a publicity blitz aimed at reassuring world powers and a fearful population.
Following a massive military offensive throughout Afghanistan that saw many cities fall to the insurgents without a fight, the Taliban have sought to portray themselves as more moderate than when they imposed a strict form of Islamic rule in the late 1990s. But many Afghans are skeptical, and thousands have raced to the airport, desperate to flee the country.
Older generations remember the Taliban’s previous rule, when they largely confined women to their homes, banned television and music, and held public executions. A U.S.-led invasion drove them from power months after the 9/11 attacks, which al-Qaida had orchestrated from Afghanistan while being sheltered by the Taliban.

Gasoline is more than a dollar a gallon higher than it was a year ago. Partly as a result of Biden cancelling petroleum leases on Federal land and off shore, we have gone from being a petroleum exporter to being a petroleum importer. The southern border is wide open with over 1 million aliens from 160 countries entering the country…and that’s only the ones we know of.Violent crime is up by huge levels in almost every American city. And Afghanistan is the worst foreign policy disaster in a generation. Our enemies are openly mocking us, and our friends can’t count on us. In fact China has told Taiwan that they will be on their own if China decides to land troops on the island to re-claim it. And now the Taliban have been gifted more Apache attack helicopters than 166 counties have! But wait! There's more! Biden left our Embassy staff and 15,000 US Citizens behind... less

Being Australian, it’s possible he’s in Australia as he sings it, but then why would the woman ask him, “Do you come from a land down under?” It seems she would be asking, “Are you from here?” As such, he would have to be somewhere outside of Australia, right? The other verses of the song state he was in Brussels and Bombay when he ran into other people, yet not the first part of the song.~ less

In the theater of your mind, think back to our generation when we rode motorcycles, bicycles, played sports, went fishing, went hunting, and several of us went to school together. We didn't always agree with one another, but even though several of us had trucks with gun racks, no one ever took out a gun and shot someone. We were God-fearing, even though many of us, such as myself, rebelled. We took summer jobs for extra money and had a decent life during our era. Now I sit here watching the news. COVID is killing America due to poor leadership, Biden is making a mess out of the Afghan withdrawal which is getting many killed and doing a disservice to our military men and women who served and gave their lives. Now we are older and would have never dreamed that such craziness would have hit our world. I can't stomach this curse of liberalism which is destroying our way of life. less
After they take over the land, then what? Where will they go for resources like food and health care? They don't make sense to me in any way shape or form.
